Syrian Minister of Communications launches the "Barq Net" project to provide high-speed internet throughout the country.

Syrian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdul Salam Hikl, announced today, Sunday, June 15, the launch of the "Barq Net" project aimed at connecting homes and offices in various areas of Syria to a high-speed fiber optic network, while providing wireless alternatives of the same quality in areas where traditional infrastructure implementation is difficult.
The announcement was made through a post by Minister Hikl on the "X" platform, where he emphasized that the project aims to enable every Syrian citizen to access "lightning-fast internet," considering it "a fundamental right and a driver of quality of life, development, and prosperity." He added that work on the project will start in the coming weeks, as part of an ambitious plan to achieve wide coverage in record time.
Hikl stated: "Today we announce the 'Barq Net' project to connect fiber optics to every home and office in our country, with wireless solutions of fixed quality where fiber installation is not feasible."
This project is part of the Syrian government's efforts to enhance digital infrastructure and improve internet services quality in the country, in line with the requirements of the digital age.
