The Syrian Minister of Agriculture, Amjad Badr, met today Monday with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations "FAO", Qu Dongyu, on the sidelines of the international meeting of donors and agriculture ministers held in Italy.

The Minister Badr reviewed the situation of the agricultural sector in Syria, the challenges left by years of war, and the main obstacles facing this vital sector.

He emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation with international organizations, especially the "FAO", to support agriculture, farmers, and address current challenges.

The Minister also stressed the need to rehabilitate and train the workforce in the agricultural sector, in addition to supporting farmers with necessary supplies.

For his part, Qu Dongyu confirmed that Syria is a priority for the organization, and that "FAO" will work to provide the necessary support to enhance the agricultural sector in the country.
