In the context of the efforts of the Syrian Ministry of Interior aimed at organizing the status of defectors and reintegrating them into its ranks, the ministry's spokesperson, Nour al-Din al-Baba, announced that a special committee has been formed to reintegrate officers who defected from the previous regime, those who defected since the beginning of the revolution until 2020, within their specialties.

Al-Baba confirmed during an interview with Al-Ikhbariya channel that the number of officers affected by this measure is estimated between 500 to 600 officers, explaining that the ministry will soon start communicating with them to reintegrate them into state institutions according to their professional specialties.

He also pointed out that the ministry has received many inquiries about the fate of defected officers, affirming that the established plan aims to benefit from their experiences.
