Syrian Foreign Ministry: The Practical Standard for Unity is Building on the Ground and Rejecting Division

Qutaiba Idlibi, Director of the American Affairs Department at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, affirmed that "the true standard for unity is the actions that are manifested in reality," stressing that "the doors of Damascus will remain open to anyone who seeks serious dialogue and joint action."
This came in a post of his via the platform "X," where Idlibi criticized practices that contradict the principle of national unity, saying: "It is inconsistent to talk about unity and reject division while conferences are held on sectarian and ethnic bases and symbols of the fallen regime are re-exported under new names."
He added that achieving unity requires "the entitlements that are built on the ground in Syria and among its people, and a comprehensive national project that rejects tyranny and its symbols, and addresses the wounds of ethnic and sectarian clashes instead of reinforcing them."
In conclusion, he reiterated Syria's openness to constructive dialogue, saying: "The doors of Damascus will remain open to anyone who seeks serious dialogue and joint action aimed at leading Syria to a better future that befits all its children."
