Syrian Foreign Ministry: Damascus Condemns Preventing Humanitarian Convoy from Entering Al-Suwayda and Warns of Serious Security Implications

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned on Sunday the actions of what it described as "unlawful militias affiliated with external parties" in preventing a government humanitarian aid convoy from entering the province of Al-Suwayda, warning of serious security implications of this act.
The Ministry stated in an official statement that since last Wednesday, as tensions escalated in the province, the Syrian government had initiated the preparation of an urgent humanitarian convoy in coordination between the Ministries of Health, Social Affairs, and Labor, and the governors of Daraa and Al-Suwayda.
It explained that despite repeated attempts, the armed militias prevented the convoy from entering. The statement mentioned that today, Sunday, another attempt was made for the convoy to enter, accompanied by a delegation of three ministers and under the protection of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, yet it was once again blocked, allowing only a limited number of Red Crescent vehicles to pass, while the trucks carrying essential aid were stopped.
The Ministry directly linked the deterioration of the security situation in southern Syria to external interference.
It emphasized in another statement that "the deterioration of the security situation is a direct result of interference by the occupying entity and the subsequent withdrawal of Syrian security forces, leading to a loss of the ability to establish order and stability in the region".
