The Syrian Energy Minister, Engineer Mohammad Al-Bashir, accompanied by a number of his assistants, visited today, Saturday, the Sudair Solar Power Station owned by "Acwa Power" company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The station is considered one of the largest in the region, covering an area of approximately 36 square kilometers and housing around 3.3 million solar panels, with a production capacity of up to 1.5 gigawatts.

The Syrian Ministry of Energy stated on Telegram that Minister Al-Bashir held a meeting during the visit with the Saudi Assistant Energy Minister Nasser bin Hadi Al-Qahtani and the Chairman of Acwa Power, Mohammed Abdullah Abunayyan.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of the station as a pioneering model in the field of renewable energy, stressing the Syrian Ministry of Energy's interest in studying the possibility of establishing a similar station in Syria.

The visit also included a field tour for Minister Al-Bashir in the company's facilities, where he familiarized himself with its various departments and the working mechanisms adopted there.
