The Syrian Minister of Energy discusses with UCC Global Company accelerating the implementation of energy projects worth 7 billion dollars

The Syrian Minister of Energy, Engineer Mohammed Al-Bashir, met today with representatives of UCC Global Company to discuss ways to follow up on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties, which aims to establish and develop a number of electricity and solar energy generation stations in various regions of Syria.
During the meeting, the stages of work were reviewed according to the terms of the memorandum of understanding, focusing on accelerating the procedures in preparation for signing the final contracts, ensuring the launch of the projects within the specified timeline.
Minister Al-Bashir confirmed that "the contracts will be signed as soon as the necessary studies are completed, ensuring that the projects are implemented according to the highest standards, serving the needs of the energy sector in Syria."
It is noteworthy that the memorandum of understanding, signed on May 29, is valued at 7 billion dollars, allowing investment in the energy sector to generate 5000 megawatts, through the establishment of four power stations operating with combined cycle gas turbine technology (CCGT), in addition to a solar power station.
The power stations will be established in the areas of Trefawi in the Homs countryside with a capacity of 1500 megawatts, Mahardah with a capacity of 1000 megawatts, Zizoun in the Hama countryside with a capacity of 750 megawatts, and Deir ez-Zor with a capacity of 750 megawatts, while the solar power station will be built in the Wadi Al-Rabi area in the Damascus countryside with a capacity of 1000 megawatts, using advanced American and European technologies.
