"Syrian Education" sets the dates for the exams of both certificates.
The Ministry of Education in the interim government of Damascus has set the dates for the exams of the basic and secondary education certificates for the current academic year.
According to a statement released by the ministry, "The exams for the general and religious basic education certificates and the vocational secondary certificate will start on June 14 and end on July 3."
Meanwhile, the exams for the general secondary certificate in its scientific and literary branches, as well as the religious secondary certificate, will start on July 5 and end on July 28.
At the end of January, the ministry decided to continue with the plan to automate the exams for the general secondary certificate, stating that "the centrally unified automated exam will be applied to three subjects in the first semester exams of the current academic year for the third year of secondary school, which are physics for the scientific branch, history for the literary branch, and mathematics for the vocational branch."
In July 2023, the former Minister of Education, Daram Tabaa, provided an overview of the educational situation in Syria through several statistics, including that out of a total of 22,000 functioning schools before 2010, there are now 14,000 functioning schools, with a number of them also damaged due to the earthquake disaster in February 2023.
