The Syrian Minister of Communications Visits Riyadh to Enhance Cooperation in Digital Transformation

The Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology, Abdul Salam Haikal, confirmed that "government digital transformation in Syria is one of the current phase's priorities," emphasizing the "importance of exchanging experiences with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to accelerate the establishment of smart institutions that provide transparent and effective services to citizens."
This came during a visit by a high-level Syrian delegation headed by Minister Haikal to the Kingdom, where a series of meetings were held in the capital, Riyadh, during which they visited the Digital Government Authority and the Saudi Innovation Center.
The Syrian Ministry of Communications reported via its channel on "Telegram" that the delegation was briefed during the visit on "the most prominent projects of the Saudi Authority in the fields of unified government services, data governance, improving user experience, and facilitating access to digital services."
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation and transfer experiences to support Syria's efforts in developing its national digital model, modern methodologies for designing digital services, and the importance of involving both the public and private sectors in this developmental process.
It is noteworthy that Minister Haikal's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia began last Saturday, at the invitation of his Saudi counterpart, to hold discussions to enhance joint cooperation in the telecommunications and technology sector.
