The renowned Syrian artist Fadwa Mohsen has passed away at the age of 84, as announced by the Syrian Artists Syndicate on its official Facebook page, a piece of news that saddened the Syrian and Arab artistic community.
Her son, the artist Hame Bakar, also mourned her on his Instagram account, saying: "My mother, may she rest in peace... May God have mercy on you, my mother... You have gone to the Most Merciful of the merciful."
The late artist was born in Deir ez-Zor, with conflicting information about her birthdate from different sources, some stating October 20, 1938, while others mention February 26, 1941.
She began her artistic career in the mid-80s, but her real breakthrough came in 1992 with the series "Tarabish," which propelled her to fame and success.
Fadwa Mohsen left her unique mark on the Syrian drama scene, excelling in social, historical, and comedic roles, known for her ability to embody characters with diverse accents.
One of her most famous roles was "Um Ibrahim" in the series "Bab Al-Hara," which she portrayed in several parts, becoming a memorable character in the audience's minds.
