Syria starts its journey in the West Asia qualifiers for women's basketball with a loss against Iran.

Syria started its journey in the West Asia Women's Basketball Championship _Qualifying Level (B)_ with a loss to Iran by a score of (55-65) in the first match held on Jordanian soil with the participation of three teams.
Perfven Jajou stood out as the top scorer for the Syrian team with (13) points, followed by Alicia Makarian with (11) points, while Leila Hassan Agha contributed (7) points, and Anna Aslanyan and Farah Assad with (6) each. Jalnar Mubarak and Aya Al-Mohammed added (4) points each, while Elissa El-Dabb scored two points.
Syria is scheduled to face the host Jordan in its second and final match tonight, Wednesday, April 16, with the tournament concluding on Thursday with a match between Jordan and Iran.
For Syria to clinch the top spot and qualify for Level (B), they must defeat Jordan, and Jordan must later defeat Iran, so that the final ranking is determined based on point difference.
