According to Maher Hassan, the head of the meteorological center in Latakia, the country is currently affected by an extension of a low-pressure system accompanied by a cold to extremely cold air mass of polar origin, keeping temperatures about 3-5 degrees Celsius below average, dropping to below freezing over mountainous areas.
The country is experiencing varying intensities of rainfall and snowfall on high mountainous areas, with snowfall levels dropping to below 900 meters at night.
Regarding the winds, they are light southwest, shifting to northeast at night, with the sea having light wave heights.
The low-pressure system will continue until next Wednesday, with varying effectiveness from day to day, generally being moderate to weak.
