The Iranian Foreign Minister, in an interview with the American network "CBS", confirmed that Iran does not expect the nuclear negotiations with the United States to resume in the near future, despite its commitment to the diplomatic path and not closing it completely.
The Iranian Minister explained that returning to the negotiating table requires "clear guarantees" to prevent targeting Iran during the negotiation period, referring to possible sanctions or military attacks that could hinder any progress in the talks.
He pointed out that the Iranian nuclear program is "completely peaceful" and is a "source of pride for the Iranian people", emphasizing at the same time that "nuclear knowledge cannot be erased by bombing", in his words.
He also affirmed that Iran has the technical capabilities to quickly repair the damages to its nuclear facilities, reflecting its readiness to continue developing its program despite the escalating international pressures.
This comes amidst repeated international calls for Tehran to return to negotiations, most notably from the Group of Seven which urged Iran to resume nuclear talks and ease escalating regional tensions.
