The Jordan Chamber of Commerce confirmed on Wednesday that the agreements reached with Syria represent a strategic step towards enhancing bilateral cooperation and opening promising prospects for economic integration that serve the interests of both sisterly countries. The First Deputy of the Chamber of Commerce, Jamal Al-Rifai, was quoted by the Jordanian news agency "Petra" as saying that the establishment of a High Coordination Council between Jordan and Syria will work to enhance mutual cooperation in various fields, especially trade, water, transportation, and energy, contributing to building a new phase of their economic relations that serve their common interests. Al-Rifai appreciated the discussions for emphasizing the enhancement and elevation of bilateral relations, particularly in light of Jordan's support for the Syrian government's efforts in rebuilding Syria and recovering from the previous stage's repercussions, including addressing the economic and logistical challenges accompanying the transitional period. He noted that this approach reflects the Kingdom's strategic vision in supporting Syria's stability and gradual return to its Arab environment, enhancing opportunities for cooperation between the business sectors of both countries in joint development projects. Al-Rifai expressed full support for the agreements on convening the Joint Economic Committee next July and organizing a business forum with private sector representatives, emphasizing the importance of restructuring the Joint Jordanian-Syrian Business Council as an effective platform to strengthen relations between the business communities in both countries, benefiting the people of both sisterly nations.
