Start of Exams for "Basic and Professional Secondary Education Certificate 2025 Session" in Syria

The exams for the Basic Education (General and Sharia) and Secondary Professional (2025 Session) certificates started this morning, Saturday, June 21, in all Syrian governorates, with the participation of more than 398,000 male and female students distributed across 2,216 exam centers.


The Basic Education exams will continue until the 9th of the upcoming July, while the Secondary Professional exams will extend until the 10th of the same month. The number of candidates for the Basic Education exams is over 380,000 students, while 18,591 male and female students are participating in the Secondary Professional exams.


The Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turk, conducted an inspection tour of several exam centers to ensure the smooth progress of the examination process on its first day. He listened to students' opinions on the level of questions and the organization of the exams.


In a special statement to SANA, the Minister emphasized "the ministry's keenness to provide a comfortable and calm exam environment to help students achieve optimal performance," stressing "the importance of adhering to the ministry's regulations governing the exams."


He also noted that "daily reports are prepared to monitor the progress of the exams in all directorates, to ensure continuous supervision and provide suitable atmospheres for students, ensuring the highest quality standards are met."


In the capital, Damascus, over 31,000 male and female students are taking the Basic and Sharia Preparatory Education exams distributed across 137 centers, while 3,554 male and female students are participating in the Secondary Professional exams across 27 centers.


In the countryside of Damascus, the number of candidates for the Basic and Sharia Preparatory Education exams is over 60,000 male and female students distributed across 321 centers, while 3,568 male and female students are participating in the Secondary Professional exams across 46 centers.


It is worth mentioning that the exams are being conducted amidst strict organizational measures to ensure their integrity and provide suitable conditions for the students.
