Sisi Refuses to Displace Palestinians and Calls for Rebuilding Gaza

Media outlets have recently extensively covered Netanyahu's and possibly Trump's intention to displace Palestinians outside their country. Egypt was one of the proposed destinations due to geographical proximity. On Friday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi reiterated his country's rejection of attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land.
This came during a phone call between Sisi and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, where Sisi emphasized the need to expedite the reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip as soon as a ceasefire is reached, ensuring the return of stability and improvement of living conditions for the residents.
He also stressed the importance of respecting international law and relevant international agreements, which oblige countries to provide security protection for diplomatic missions and not to interfere with foreign embassies operating on their territories, a point emphasized by the Dutch Prime Minister.
The two sides discussed various aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, reaffirming the importance of continuing to enhance and develop these relations, especially in priority areas of common interest such as trade, investment, agriculture, water resource management, financial services, and energy.
