Silicon Summit in Aleppo Ignites the Digital Transformation Spark in Syria with Wide Participation and Promising Prospects
The Silicon Technology and Digital Transformation Summit kicked off on Thursday, July 31st, at the Sheraton Hotel in Aleppo, under the patronage of the city's governor, Engineer Azzam Al-Ghareeb, to be the first major technical event witnessed by the country after the liberation phase. The summit, organized in partnership by Trust Company for Exhibitions and the International Youth Chamber, witnessed remarkable interest from technology companies and young entrepreneurs.
The opening day was marked by a panel discussion bringing together a select group of local and international experts in the field of technology, along with a specialized exhibition showcasing innovative projects in artificial intelligence and robotics. The summit also provided opportunities for communication between investors and ambitious idea owners.
The discussion sessions saw significant interaction, with a session on 'Local Investment in Conflict Areas' addressing ways to manage challenges in service and commercial sectors, while a session on 'When Artificial Intelligence Becomes an Employee in Every Institution' discussed the pivotal role of modern technologies in enhancing productivity. The presentation on 'Smart Transport Revolution' drew interest by providing future insights into sustainable transportation systems.
Abdul Rahman Al-Shayyah, representing 'Rise' company, the event sponsor, affirmed to SANA that the summit serves as a vital platform for transforming creative ideas into applicable projects, expressing his company's commitment to supporting technological innovation in Syria.
On the other hand, Razek Dawood, Deputy Head of Entrepreneurship Sector at the International Youth Chamber, viewed this event as a strategic turning point in the digital transformation journey, emphasizing that building advanced societies begins with investing in technology and empowering youth.
The Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics presented a range of pioneering projects in software and robotics during the event, where Engineer Zuhair Al-Nasser, head of the administrative committee at the society, noted that these achievements reflect the capabilities of Syrian youth and their contributions to building a promising technological future.
Participants are preparing for the second day, which includes panel discussions on pioneering partnerships and sustainable impact technologies, along with topics related to the future of digital economy in education and smart cities, concluding the events with a competition to support startup projects.
The recommendations of the first day reaffirmed that investing in young talents and modern technologies is the fundamental gateway to reconstruction, with an emphasis on the pivotal role of technology in shaping a new developmental future for the country.
