Security Source: Ceasefire in Al-Suwayda Proceeding Smoothly.. Next Phase Involves "Comprehensive Calm and Prisoner Exchange"

A Syrian security source reported on Tuesday, July 22, that the ceasefire agreement in the province of Al-Suwayda (southern Syria) is being implemented smoothly in most areas without any violations. The source explained that this calmness will enable the government to quickly "return families to it," confirming that the next step will involve "implementing a comprehensive calm and exchanging prisoners."
In a related context, the Governor of Al-Suwayda, Mustafa Al-Bakour, conducted a field tour in the areas of Daraa province hosting displaced people from Al-Suwayda, to assess their conditions and meet their needs, as part of the government's efforts to support the displaced.
During the tour, the governor stated: "My advice now is for everyone to calm down and work towards building and seeking to restore civil peace and open new pages for reconciliation among all parties, and to return people to their homes."
The official page of Al-Suwayda province quoted Al-Bakour as saying that during his meetings with the displaced, they expressed their desire to return to their homes, where he mentioned: "The people we met during the tour were saying: We want to go back to our homes, we do not want to remain displaced or refugees." The governor added: "We told them: You are now guests, and you will return to the homes where you were born, lived, and raised, you are part of the province, and the sons of this land."
