Security operation in the countryside of Tartus results in the arrest of a group involved in assassinations and attacks

The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced today, Friday, that the Internal Security Forces in Tartus Governorate carried out a qualitative security operation in cooperation with special task units, which resulted in the arrest of members of a lawless group that was holed up in hideouts in the countryside of the governorate.

According to the ministry's statement, the group members are involved in the assassination of two internal security personnel in the city of Tartus on August 18, as well as carrying out attacks on points belonging to the Ministries of Defense and Interior on March 6.

The detainees have been transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Directorate to complete the investigations, in preparation for presenting them to the competent judiciary to take legal action against them.
