Saudi-Syrian Workshop Explores Prospects for Knowledge Transfer in Energy Sector Governance

Syrian Energy Minister, Engineer Mohammad Al-Bashir, chaired a specialized workshop on governance and institutional development organized by the Saudi Ministry of Energy, with the attendance of his deputies for oil, electricity, and water resources affairs.
The workshop was attended from the Saudi side by the assistants of the Energy Minister, namely Engineer Nasser bin Hadi Al-Qahtani for electricity affairs, Engineer Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Brahem for petroleum and gas affairs, and Engineer Ahmed bin Musa Al-Zahrani for development and excellence affairs, in addition to a number of senior ministry officials.
The workshop discussed the Saudi Ministry of Energy's plans and experiences in the areas of governance, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation with Syria, especially in transferring successful experiences and solutions to support the Syrian energy sector. The successful Saudi model in addressing challenges was also reviewed, focusing on governance and development strategies, which serve as an important reference for cooperation between the two countries.
This comes during Minister Al-Bashir's visit to the Kingdom, where he held a meeting yesterday with Engineer Nasser Al-Qahtani and Mohammad Abdullah Abunayyan, Chairman of the Board of Aqua Power Company, during his tour of the company's Shuaibah Solar Energy Station.
