In an emergency session held by the International Security Council yesterday evening, the permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations, "Vassily Nebenzia," strongly criticized the United States, accusing it of fully siding with Israel in the escalating crisis with Iran.
Nebenzia emphasized that Washington deliberately ignores calls for de-escalation, insisting on adopting a provocative and dangerous approach, saying: "We are surprised by Washington's calls on Tehran to de-escalate, while turning a blind eye to Israel's actions."
He added: "No one knows what the next disasters will be or the extent of the suffering that will result from these policies."
The Russian delegate pointed out that his country had submitted a resolution to the International Security Council calling for an immediate ceasefire between Iran and Israel, confirming that Washington is not really interested in diplomatic solutions but rather seeks to escalate the situation.
On the other hand, the Chinese envoy to the United Nations stated that diplomatic efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear crisis have not been exhausted yet, and there is still hope for a peaceful settlement.
He added that all parties, especially Israel, should reach an immediate ceasefire.
He also strongly condemned the recent American attacks on Iran.
On the contrary, the United States justified its recent military strikes against Iran as coming to protect and support Israel in the face of Iranian threats.
In response, Tehran affirmed that its forces will determine the nature and timing of the response to these attacks, increasing the danger of the situation and the possibility of military escalation in the region.
