Russian Grain Trading Company Sues Central Bank of Syria

A Russian grain trading company has filed a lawsuit against the Central Bank of Syria and a government grain company, demanding 5.6 billion rubles (71.52 million dollars).
According to Reuters, the arbitration court database indicated that Baltika, one of the top 20 Russian grain trading companies by revenue, filed a lawsuit against the Central Bank of Syria and the General Organization for Trading, Storage, and Processing of Grains on June 19. The database did not include any other details.
Baltika was established in 2022 when major Russian grain traders faced Western sanctions due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The government allowed the company to sell 145,484 tons of wheat from February to July this year.
Contact information for Baltika, a member of the Grain Exporters and Producers Union in Russia based in the Rostov region, could not be found, and no comment was obtained from them. A court date for the case has not been set yet.
The Central Bank of Syria was not available for comment at the moment according to the agency.
