Russia Launches Most Intense Aerial Attack on Ukraine Since Conflict Began

As part of an escalating bombing campaign that dashed hopes of progress in efforts to end the three-year-old war, a Ukrainian official said on Sunday that Russia launched its biggest aerial attack on Ukraine since the start of the war.
Ukrainian Air Forces announced that Russia launched a total of 537 aerial weapons on Ukraine, including 477 drones and other deceptive aircraft, and 60 missiles.
The Ukrainian Air Forces stated that 249 drones were shot down, while another 226 drones were likely lost through electronic warfare means.
Yuriy Ehinat, head of communications in the Ukrainian Air Forces, told the Associated Press that the overnight aerial attack was the "largest aerial attack" the country has faced, considering the number of drones and different missile models used.
Ehinat added that the attack targeted areas all over Ukraine, including the western regions, far from the front line.
Meanwhile, the Polish Air Forces announced on Sunday that Poland and allied countries rushed to send aircraft to ensure the security of Polish airspace.
The governor of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Brokhodyr, announced the death of a person due to an aerial attack using drones.
The governor of the Cherkasy region, Ihor Taburits, stated that six people were injured in Cherkasy, including a child.
