Riyadh: 'Two-State Solution' Based on Saudi Arabia's Consistent Position on the Palestinian Issue

Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that Saudi Arabia's presidency in partnership with France for the international conference to settle the Palestinian issue and implement the two-state solution is based on his country's unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue and its continued efforts to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees the establishment of the Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with its capital in East Jerusalem.
The Saudi Foreign Minister stated: 'The Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and with the follow-up of the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is making every effort to establish a just peace in the Middle East region, always seeking, based on its firm principles, to promote international peace and security to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, stop the ongoing cycle of violence, and the Palestinian conflict against the Israeli occupation, which has lasted long, claiming the lives of tens of thousands of innocent civilians, fueling hatred among the peoples of the region and the world.'
He added: 'It is on this basis that the Kingdom, in partnership with France, is presiding over the high-level international conference to settle the Palestinian issue and implement the two-state solution at the ministerial level, which will be held this week at the United Nations headquarters in New York with broad international participation, looking forward to pushing towards the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions calling for the establishment of two states where Palestinians enjoy their independent state, achieving peace and stability in the region, and pushing it forward towards development and prosperity.'
