In a significant economic and touristic move, Kuwait's Jazeera Airways has announced the resumption of its direct flights to Syria after a hiatus of over 13 years.
The first plane belonging to the company landed yesterday at Damascus International Airport from Kuwait International Airport, thus announcing the return of air connectivity between the two countries.
The company stated in an official statement that flights will initially operate at a rate of one flight per day, with a plan to increase the number to two flights per day before the end of the summer season, indicating its desire to expand its presence in the renewed Syrian market.
This decision comes within the framework of increasing movements aimed at reintegrating Syria into the regional air transport network, amidst broad economic and touristic anticipation of the developmental opportunities and relationship enhancement between Syria and neighboring countries that this openness may bring.
