Turkish Airlines has announced the resumption of its regular flights to the Syrian city of Aleppo, starting from the first of August next month, after a hiatus of over 13 years.
The company stated in a statement carried by Anadolu Agency today that it will operate direct daily flights between Istanbul and Aleppo, in a move reflecting signs of improvement in air traffic and communication between the two countries.
To celebrate the reopening of this route, the company clarified that round-trip ticket prices will start from $299, in a promotional offer marking the resumption of flights.
It is worth mentioning that Turkish Airlines had suspended its flights to Aleppo in 2012, due to the events in the country, only to return today after more than a decade of interruption, as part of new efforts to enhance regional air connectivity.
