The residents of Al-Ma'alaqa village in the Quneitra Governorate, southwest Syria, rejected the aid offered by the Israeli forces that infiltrated the area, affirming their firm refusal of any support coming from "an entity that has occupied their land and shed blood on it."
According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army attempted to provide aid after raiding the village and intimidating the residents, but the locals categorically rejected this attempt.
The village headman, Khidr 'Ubaydah, explained that Israeli soldiers enter and exit the village repeatedly on a daily basis, inspecting homes and instilling fear among women and children. He mentioned that aid was offered to them, but they refused to accept it due to their steadfast stance against the occupation.
In a related context, local sources confirmed that the residents continue to resist the Israeli presence in the area, expressing their disapproval of the soldiers' behavior and their frequent interference in their daily lives. The situation in the village is witnessing increasing tension, with a prevailing sense of anxiety and annoyance among the population due to the aggressive actions of the Israeli forces.
This comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, amidst escalating protests against the Israeli presence, amid growing fears of escalating conflicts and their negative repercussions on the humanitarian situation in the area.
