The General Manager of Hama National Hospital, Dr. Mahmoud Makhayber, in collaboration with the Syrian American Medical Society "SAMS," has rehabilitated the deteriorated infrastructure of the Intensive Care Unit due to the neglect of the previous regime, as part of a development plan aimed at enhancing the hospital's capacity and critical medical services. Makhayber explained that the department was suffering from a deteriorating technical situation, negatively affecting its performance, especially due to its direct connection with all other medical departments. Thanks to the strategic partnership with "SAMS," comprehensive maintenance works were carried out on the infrastructure, with a capacity of 10 beds, including equipping the infrastructure to meet international standards, updating electrical networks and current control, installing advanced air conditioning systems for optimal ventilation, repairing the structural framework, and renewing plumbing connections. Makhayber mentioned that the remaining beds and medical equipment will be supplied in the coming weeks to make the department fully operational, and that cooperation with "SAMS" will extend to future projects, possibly including the rehabilitation of neurological and cardiac departments, enhancing the hospital's efficiency as a regional center for specialized care.
