The Acting Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, Mosab Badawi, discussed with the Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program in Syria (Moual) "Hiroshi Takabayashi" the possibility of securing funding for rebuilding the Al-Rastan Bridge and collaborating on recovery plans as a prelude to establishing a reconstruction methodology.
Badawi explained during today's meeting between the two sides that "the Authority has a comprehensive study for rehabilitating the bridge, with a cost exceeding 2 million dollars, expressing hope to reach a consensus with the program to implement this vital bridge."
Badawi also mentioned "the Authority's desire to benefit from the program's expertise in order to develop a national strategy for reconstruction, revealing that the Prime Minister's Office has begun developing a comprehensive vision on this issue."
On his part, Takabayashi confirmed that he will engage with multiple donor entities in several countries to secure the necessary funding for the bridge rehabilitation project.
