Rare birth of sextuplets in Idlib.. The children with special needs require urgent support

Shafaq Specialized Hospital for Women and Children in Maarat Misrin city, Idlib province, witnessed a rare medical event with the birth of sextuplets (six children) through an emergency cesarean section for a woman in her thirty-first week of pregnancy.
The medical team announced the birth of five living children, while the sixth child passed away in the fetal stage. The five children are currently under observation in the intensive care unit, receiving necessary doses of surfactant for the development of their premature lungs. Medical reports indicate that their general condition is acceptable but requires continuous medical care.
The hospital is facing major difficulties due to a severe shortage of incubators, with only two available, putting the lives of the premature babies at risk. Additionally, the hospital lacks essential medications provided free of charge, with high costs, exacerbating the medical challenges in saving the newborns' lives.
The hospital administration has urgently appealed to health and humanitarian organizations to assist in securing incubators, providing necessary medications and medical supplies, emphasizing that the children's health condition requires immediate support to ensure their stability.
