The Director of Public Security in Latakia Province, Major Mustafa Kanaifati, clarified, "We affirm our full commitment to protecting civil peace and ensuring the security of all citizens, and there will be no tolerance for any violation of this principle."
According to what "SANA" quoted from Kanaifati, he stated, "We will pursue groups acting outside the law and their officers, and we will not allow any retaliatory acts under any circumstances."
Kanaifati pointed out that "we will hold accountable anyone proven to be involved in attacks, whether from regime remnants or from thieves and security disruptors, and we will take all legal measures against them."
Kanaifati emphasized that "we will not allow the incitement of sedition or the targeting of any component of the Syrian people, and the rule of law is the only guarantee of achieving justice."
He concluded his statement by saying, "We urge citizens not to be swayed by any provocative calls, and to leave the matter to the competent institutions. The security agencies continue to pursue the killers and remnants of the defunct Assad regime, and will deal firmly with anyone threatening security and stability."
