The General Security Administration in Deir ez-Zor province issued a decision to dismiss nine members from service, after their involvement in various violations was proven, including theft, bribery, smuggling detainees, and neglecting their job duties.
The decision, dated April 11, 2025, stated that one of the members was referred for investigation on charges of facilitating the smuggling of a detainee, while the other violations included taking bribes at security checkpoints, encroaching on state property, as well as embezzlement of ammunition.
The decision emphasized that these actions are part of efforts to combat corruption within the security apparatus, and the administration's commitment to preserving the authority of state institutions and ensuring professional discipline.
The decision is expected to be implemented directly by the relevant authorities, as stated in the official signature of the General Security Director in Deir ez-Zor province.
Since the fall of the former regime in January 8, 2024, the General Security forces under the Ministry of Interior have been deployed in various Syrian provinces to maintain security, prevent chaos, and protect public facilities while securing the lives of civilians.
