After one day of the Syrian government reopening the Damascus Securities Exchange after a 6-month hiatus, aiming to stimulate economic activity and enhance transparency in financial transactions, Damascus received an offer from France to contribute to the development of the Syrian capital markets. This comes in a post on the "LinkedIn" platform following a meeting between the Syrian Minister of Economy, Mohammad Yasar Barinia, and the Acting French Ambassador in Damascus, Jean-Baptiste Faveur. Barinia thanked the French side for the message conveyed by the Acting Ambassador on behalf of his country, indicating that France has reiterated its full political and economic support for Syria, committing to contribute to stability and reconstruction efforts. He explained that the meeting discussed proposals to enhance cooperation between Syrian and French banks, including the possibility of developing financial and banking partnerships that serve the upcoming phase. The Minister also discussed organizing a visit for a delegation of French investors and business leaders to Syria to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
