Pope Francis: Terrorist Attack on Church in Damascus a Heinous Act

Pope Francis described the terrorist attack on the Church of St. Elijah in the Dwelaa area of Damascus, which resulted in the death of 25 people and the injury of 63, as a “heinous act.”
Today, during the weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, the Pope expressed his condolences to the victims' families and his hope for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Pope also emphasized that this tragic event requires the international community to continue supporting Syria in achieving peace and stability.
