Pedersen: There is international consensus on the need to support Syria.

The Special Envoy of the United Nations to Syria, Geir Pedersen, confirmed the international consensus on the need to support Syria and the success of the new government's mission. He pointed out that an improvement in the economic situation will gradually appear after the lifting of American and European sanctions.
Pedersen explained that after the sanctions are lifted, many investors from Arab countries, Turkey, Europe, and America are interested in investing in Syria. He emphasized that progress in the security file is necessary to enhance economic development.
The UN envoy noted that the humanitarian needs in Syria are enormous, especially with more than 17 million people in need of assistance. He said, "The Syrians agree that they must all contribute to building their country for a new dawn for Syria."
