The Pakistani army announced today, Thursday, that it has shot down "25 Israeli-made drones" launched by India since Wednesday evening, following a military confrontation between the two sides, the most serious between New Delhi and Islamabad in two decades. The army stated that these drones were intercepted "using technological and military means." According to the Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth," the Israeli ambassador to India, Ronen Avaz, said in recent interviews that "Israel supports India's right to self-defense, and New Delhi knows it can rely on Israel." Pakistani military spokesperson Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reported that India sent Harop drones to several locations, including Lahore and Karachi, and that the wreckage is being collected. Chaudhry added that "the drones launched by India continue to enter Pakistani airspace. India will continue to pay a heavy price for this blatant aggression." India accused Pakistan on Thursday of targeting its territories during Wednesday night using "drones and missiles," stating that it responded by destroying air defense systems in Lahore, northern Pakistan.
