Official Syrian warning about fraudulent campaigns promoting fake internet services via satellites.

The Syrian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has issued an urgent warning to citizens about suspicious advertising campaigns promoting alleged services called "Satellite Internet" through some applications. The authority confirms that these advertisements are fraudulent operations aimed at hacking personal and banking accounts and stealing sensitive user data.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the authority denied the possibility of providing internet service via satellites through regular mobile phones, explaining that "actual satellite internet technology requires special devices and modems not available in most smartphones operating on current local networks."
The authority urged citizens to be cautious and take preventive measures, including avoiding dealing with any unreliable applications or websites that claim to offer this service for free or without the need for specific technical equipment. It emphasized not sharing any personal or financial data through these platforms. Users were also encouraged to verify the sources of digital services before engaging with them and to communicate exclusively with licensed companies to avoid falling victim to fraudulent operations.
