Monaco announces the signing of Pogba after the end of his suspension
Monaco announced today, Saturday, its contract with Paul Pogba in a free transfer deal to join the team competing in the French Ligue 1 football league with a two-year contract, as the midfielder looks to revive his career after being suspended for doping.

Pogba was sentenced in February 2024 to a four-year suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs that increase testosterone levels, before the penalty was reduced to 18 months after his appeal was accepted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Juventus announced last November that they had reached an agreement to mutually terminate the contract with the French midfielder and not continue his deal that was supposed to run until June 2026.

The 2018 World Cup winner had a disappointing second spell with Juventus due to injuries after returning to the club, following his departure from Manchester United at the end of his contract in 2022.

United signed Pogba in 2016 in a world-record deal at that time worth £89 million, but the four-time Serie A champion only won two titles with the English Premier League club, the EFL Cup and the Europa League, in his first season.

Pogba's last match with France was in 2022, but a knee surgery prevented him from playing in the World Cup in Qatar.

Monaco finished third behind league champions Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille last season.
