The Syrian Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Amjad Badr, accompanied by the Director of Al-Haffah District, Yaman Al-Shaghri, and the Director of Agriculture in Latakia, Engineer Abdel Fattah Al-Samar, inspected agricultural lands in Kurdish Mountain villages during a field tour on Thursday. This was part of monitoring the damages caused by the recent fires and assessing the agricultural sector in the region.

The Minister and the accompanying delegation observed the on-ground situations in several villages, where they assessed the extent of damages to fields and crops due to the fires that broke out last week, affecting vast areas of forests and agricultural lands.

Additionally, the Minister of Agriculture and the Governor of Latakia, Mohammed Othman, held a meeting with the residents of Kurdish Mountain villages to discuss the agricultural situation in the area and ways to support the locals.

Various areas in the northern countryside of Latakia have been witnessing widespread fires for a week, due to challenging climatic and topographic conditions, including strong winds and high temperatures.
