Meeting between the Central Bank of Syria and the Central Bank of France to enhance cooperation.

Dr. Abdulkader Al-Hassriya, Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, held a virtual meeting with representatives of the French Central Bank to discuss ways to develop monetary policy and enhance the independence of the Central Bank, in support of monetary stability in the face of current challenges.
Al-Hassriya stated in a post on his official Facebook page: "Yesterday, we had a fruitful meeting with colleagues from the French Central Bank, where we discussed prospects for mutual cooperation in monetary policy, capacity building, and banking competencies."
The meeting also addressed enhancing cooperation in training and qualification through a partnership between the Syrian Banking Institute and the International Institute of Banking Finance affiliated with the French Central Bank.
Al-Hassriya added: "The discussion included the topic of opening mutual bank accounts between the two banks, as well as discussing strategies for managing reserves through safe and effective investment tools that contribute to monetary stability."
He noted that both parties agreed to hold follow-up meetings to study technical files and implement cooperation plans systematically and sustainably.
At the end of the meeting, Al-Hassriya thanked the French Charge d'Affaires in Damascus, Jean-Baptiste Favre, saying: "We thank Mr. Favre for organizing this constructive meeting and his diligent efforts in enhancing dialogue and cooperation between the two institutions."
