Firefighting and civil defense teams, with wide participation from locals, continue their efforts to extinguish a large fire that broke out in three separate locations within the forests located between Tahoun Al-Halawa and Ain Al-Karum in the Al-Ghab Plain area in the countryside of Hama Governorate.
Local sources mentioned that the fire spread rapidly due to strong winds, increasing the difficulty of controlling it. This significantly hindered the efforts of firefighting teams who are doing their utmost to contain the flames and prevent them from reaching residential homes, especially after many locals hurried to evacuate their homes as a precaution.
According to the information received, the fire also reached the vicinity of the town of Naba Al-Tayyib, where the fire broke out in one of the forest sites, prompting a rapid intervention from the firefighting teams trying to limit the spread of the fire to agricultural lands or nearby residential areas.
The firefighting operations face significant challenges due to the strong winds causing the fire to spread over wider distances. There are growing concerns that the fire may turn into an environmental disaster if not fully controlled within the coming hours.
Meanwhile, locals continue to provide field support to the firefighting teams, amidst calls to intensify efforts and bring additional support to confront the escalating fire.
