The thrilling encounter between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital derby ended in a positive draw (1-1) at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, as part of the 23rd round of the Spanish league.
Atletico Madrid opened the scoring early through their Argentine star Julian Alvarez from a penalty, before the Frenchman Kylian Mbappe managed to equalize for Real Madrid in the second half, resulting in both teams sharing the points of the match.
Despite the draw, Real Madrid continues to top the La Liga table with 50 points, while Atletico Madrid raised their tally to 49 points, remaining in second place just one point behind their traditional rival, keeping the title race alive in the upcoming rounds.
