Lapid: Netanyahu's victory again will lead to the collapse of Israel and the end of the Zionist project

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid warned on Monday evening that the victory of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ruling coalition in the upcoming elections "will be the end of Zionism and the collapse of Israel".

Lapid stated during a conference for the Yesh Atid party that Israel is facing "the last opportunity to save the state," adding: "If we do not act now, there will be nothing left to save in two years."

He emphasized the need to adopt a constitution for Israel, alongside combating corruption and strengthening the role of the police and courts, describing these steps as urgent to ensure the state's survival.

In previous statements, Lapid called on the government to apologize for the killing of children in Gaza, considering that it serves Israel's international interests, and accused it of manipulating the issue of prisoners and hostages, rejecting calls to form a new government.

At the same time, Hebrew media revealed an internal document from the Israeli army acknowledging the failure of Operation Gideon’s Chariots, which began last May, to achieve its objectives.

In a related context, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy confirmed before Parliament that his government is moving towards recognizing the Palestinian state if Israel does not respond to London's three conditions: a ceasefire in Gaza, taking concrete steps to end the conflict, and halting plans to annex the West Bank.
