Sources from the Dignity Men Movement reported today, Thursday, that the leader of the movement, Laith Al-Balous, survived an assassination attempt in Shahba in the countryside of Al-Suwayda.
Laith is the only son of Al-Balous, one of the most prominent Druze sheikhs in Syria, who has been opposing the Bashar al-Assad regime since the beginning of the revolution in March 2011.
Al-Balous, the leader of the "Dignity Men Movement," was the target of a "political" assassination attempt in September 2015, following a car bomb explosion in the city of Al-Suwayda, followed by another targeting at the hospital he was transferred to.
It is worth mentioning that Laith Al-Balous stands with the new Syrian government and is against separatist movements within Syrian territory.
