Walid Jumblatt, the former president of the Progressive Socialist Party in Lebanon, emphasized the importance of adhering to the ceasefire agreement in southern Syria, warning against any statements calling for international or Israeli intervention, describing them as a "violation of Syria's sovereignty and the national and Arab history of Suwayda".

This came during a statement reported by the Lebanese National News Agency, where Jumblatt called for the consolidation of the agreement and adherence to what was stated in the statement issued by the exceptional meeting at the Dar Al-Muqadeseen Al-Druze.

Jumblatt explained that "a comprehensive political solution is the only way to preserve the dignity of the Syrian state and meet the legitimate demands of the people of Jabal al-Arab", pointing out the necessity of "launching a dialogue among all religious, political, and sectarian components under state sponsorship".

He also called for de-escalation and efforts to prevent the escalation of tension, stressing that "the Druze of Syria are an integral part of the Arab and Syrian national fabric, and it is not permissible to exclude them from their Arab identity or deal with them as a separate entity from their natural environment".
