Amid the recent Arab opening to Syria, Jordan is moving to alleviate the economic hardship in its neighbor. The CEO of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company, Hassan Al-Hiyari, confirmed a plan to supply Syria with household gas by receiving empty gas cylinders from the Syrian side, refilling them in Jordan, and then returning them to Syria.

Al-Hiyari revealed that the company is currently preparing the technical studies related to the project, in preparation for officially presenting them to the Syrian side, as reported by the Jordanian newspaper "Al-Ghad".

He pointed out that the plan includes refilling about 40,000 cylinders daily during the summer season only, as priority in the winter season will be given to meeting the needs of the local market.

According to the proposal, the Salah Al-Din gas filling station, affiliated with the Jordan Petroleum Refinery in the Na'ima area in the north of the country, will receive the empty Syrian cylinders to be refilled and then sent back to Syria to meet the needs of the population in southern Syria.
