Jordanian-Egyptian Agreements to Deepen Economic Partnership Amid Political Consensus on Regional Issues

In a move that reflects the depth of Jordanian-Egyptian relations and their diverse pathways, the work of the joint higher committee between the two countries concluded with the signing of nine agreements and memoranda of understanding covering the fields of energy, electrical connectivity, investment, industry, tourism, transportation, and transit, in addition to other vital sectors.
These agreements represent an extension of a cooperation path that began with the establishment of the committee in 1985, contributing to an increase in trade exchange and achieving continuous economic convergence, with direct interest from King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in opening wider horizons for partnership.
However, the economic dimension was not separate from the political agenda; the Prime Ministers, Jaafar Hassan and Mostafa Madbouly, confirmed the two countries' consensus on the necessity of ending the Israeli war on Gaza, rejecting the policy of starvation, and stopping provocations in the West Bank and Jerusalem, while emphasizing the delivery of humanitarian aid.
