The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced the evacuation of 112 Jordanian citizens and a number of nationals of friendly countries from As-Suwayda Governorate in the Syrian Arab Republic, through the Nasib-Jaber border crossing, in full coordination with the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the relevant authorities in the Syrian state.
The Jordanian news agency "Petra" quoted Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, the ministry's official spokesman, as saying that the evacuation operation was carried out at the request of the concerned countries and was done through buses of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, as part of a joint effort and direct cooperation between Jordanian national institutions and their Syrian counterparts.
Al-Qudah praised the swift response of the Syrian government and its effective cooperation in securing the exit of Jordanian citizens and foreign nationals from As-Suwayda, ensuring their safe and swift return to the kingdom.
In the same context, a SANA correspondent in Daraa confirmed the arrival of two convoys from As-Suwayda Governorate to the city of Bosra al-Sham in the countryside of Daraa, where the first convoy included about 200 civilians, while the second convoy carried more than 80 individuals of Jordanian, American, and German nationalities, in preparation for their transfer to the Nasib border crossing and completing the procedures for their entry into Jordanian territory.
This step comes as part of joint humanitarian and security efforts aimed at protecting civilians and facilitating their return, amid exceptional conditions in some areas of southern Syria.
