The Jordanian Ministry of Finance decided yesterday to reduce and unify the fees imposed on Syrian trucks and refrigerators, whether loaded or empty, transiting Jordanian territories or entering and exiting Jordan's free zones, in lieu of road traffic services. The fees calculation is now based on a new equation, with the percentage reduced to 2% from 5%, except for Syrian trucks and refrigerators entering and exiting the kingdom. This decision was made based on a statement issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Transport, confirming that the decision was coordinated among the ministries of finance, industry, trade, supply, transport, and the General Customs Department, aiming to facilitate the movement of goods between Jordan and Syria and support trade exchange between the two brotherly countries. This decision follows a recent visit by a Jordanian ministerial delegation to Syria, where agreements were reached to enhance the common economy, boost transportation and trade between the two countries.
