Syria, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Qatar announced the launch of a natural gas supply project from Azerbaijan to Syria via Turkish territory, funded by the State of Qatar, describing the project as a "symbol of regional solidarity" among the four countries.

This was stated in a joint statement published by the Turkish Ministry of Energy via the "X" platform, and reported by Anadolu Agency, where the countries confirmed that the project "carries strong humanitarian implications, directly contributing to revitalizing the Syrian economy, improving living conditions for the population, and enhancing electricity across Syria," considering it "an important step towards deepening the existing ties between these countries."

The statement clarified that completing the project in a record time is "a vital support for the reconstruction process in Syria," especially following the "historical developments after the fall of the previous regime on December 8 of last year." Qatar also reaffirmed its "commitment to supporting the recovery and stability process in Syria, by contributing to electricity production."

At the end of the statement, the four countries renewed their determination to "promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region," emphasizing their pursuit of "building a future based on cooperation rather than division, where the peoples of the region enjoy security, development, and mutual trust."

The launch of the project was attended by Syrian Minister of Energy Engineer Mohammad Al-Bashir, Turkish Minister of Energy Alparslan Bayraktar, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, in addition to representatives from the Qatar Development Fund. The supply rate in the first phase is expected to reach about 3.4 million cubic meters of gas daily.
